PLDPaladin
This page lists all player-created hotbar (HB) and cross-hotbar (XHB) layout guides and keybindings for the Paladin Class/Job in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail.
For centuries, the elite of the Sultansworn have served as personal bodyguards to the royal family of Ul’dah. Known as paladins, these men and women marry exquisite swordplay with stalwart shieldwork to create a style of combat uncompromising in its defense. Clad in brilliant silver armor, they charge fearlessly into battle, ever ready to lay down their lives for their liege.
To be a paladin is to protect, and those who choose to walk this path will become the iron foundation upon which the party’s defense is built.

I like keeping my bars organized like my hands.
Bar 3 is on the left and bar 1 and 2 are stacked on the right so that they mirror as two full rows.
Bar 1 is bound directly down the numbers keys Bar 2 is below Bar 1 and is exactly the same +Shift
Bar 3 is bound as QWERCV Shift+QWERCV

Peripherals are Corsair Scimitar Elite
All jobs will follow a similar pattern to make job transitioning simple and not so overwhelming
Hot bar 1 - All single target and buff abilities
Hot bar 2 (SHIFT) - All AOE abilities plus some role skills that I find are more important to have access to as shift is easier for me to access
Hot bar 3 (CTRL) - All tank mitigation abilities
PLD 7.0
I show Cross Hotbar 3 (Left) with both of the expanded trigger controls, so you can easily add in another 8 actions if you prefer, I use XHB 8 as a shared bar between all classes for traversal and general actions outside of combat. Role actions are consistent among my layouts, and so are general actions. The macro icon is a placeholder for a Tincture/Gemdraught.
Also, why does PLD have so many buttons.

PLD 7.0 for MMO Mouse
This layout is meant to be used with any sort of MMO mouse that has 12 buttons on the side. I chose 4x3 bars so that the layout represents the button layout on my mouse.
Bar 1 encompasses your single-target rotation. I was aiming for as little thumb movement as possible, so for the most part, you'll be zig-zagging along the side of the mouse: 1-2-3 combo into FoF & Req/Imperator, then back to the FoF button for Goring Blade, then CoC/Exp, then jumping back to Confiteor with Intervene woven in. Your filler attacks are assigned to the final row.
Bar 2 holds your AoE attacks and long-cooldown damage reduction abilities. I use SHIFT+# to access these buttons, so once you perform your 1-2 combo, you jump back to Bar 1 and perform the DPS rotation before jumping back to Bar 2 for filler attacks. The DR abilities are laid out in order of use when wall pulling in dungeons: Hallowed Ground -> Reprisal + Rampart -> Guardian + Arm's Length. The other defensive cooldowns are towards the back of the bar.
Bar 3 holds your other defensive abilities, Enmity control abilities, and tank stance. I use CTRL+# to access this bar. This is also a good place to put your food and XP buff items. I put them here rather than Bar 4 because Bar 4 is my shared bar.
I left Bar 4 blank because it can be whatever you want it to be - useful abilities across all your characters, like Mount/Minion summons, menu shortcuts, etc.
Pal O' Din - Azeron 1
First version of Azeron layout. Hotbar 3 is center row of buttons, 1 & 2 are upper flick buttons, 4 & 5 are squeeze buttons. Actions on the upper halves of hotbars are shift (nub click) + 1-4 (pinky-pointer). Hotbar 4 sides are shift and outer buttons.

Current WIP for updated hotbars in 7.0, focusing on minimising swapping hotbars in combat and keeping visual clarity on relevant buff cooldowns and maximising consistency across all jobs. Bar 1 is for single target, and Bar 2 for AoE.
The Glamour Plate button is being used in place of the newly added skill as needed, and the dye represents potion. Sprint and LB are macroed to L3/R3 respectively.

My goal is to normalize same/similar skill positions across all of my jobs for consistency and muscle memory. While also trying group skills in a thematically and aesthetically pleasing way.

Make sure to change Double tap L2 to "Cross Hotbar 4 - Left" and Double tap R2 to "Cross Hotbar 4 - Right"

- Supplication/Sepulcher: Action Change for Atonement, basically replicates what the old three Atonement "combo" was (no change needed)
- Guardian: upgrade to Sentinel (no change needed)
- Imperator: upgrade to Requiescat (no change needed)
- Blade of Honor: Action Change from Imperator (no change needed)

Left/Right Scroll Wheel clicks allows Hotbar 2 and 3 gameplay solely on mouse.
Keyboard gameplay can be eliminated entirely, although not recommended due to movement.Additional Notes
PLD has way too many buttons, even if some are not often used in end-game content. I have trouble placing them in a way that suits both early game content and end-game content, especially for the common OGCDs.

Paladin Hotbar v.1
(by the way, I have mapped my hotbars to bumpers instead of triggers, so instead of "RT (R2)", think "RB (R1)". It is much easier on my hands to hold R1 instead of R2 lol)
RT - Filler GCDs. Intervene is here so I can weave it into my pre-pull Holy Spirit to start my opener early as possible. These are the actions I use most often
LT - Burst phase. All the Paladin burst actions fit neatly onto the D-pad; I put it on the D-pad so I can smoothly alternate to Circle of Scorn and Expiacion on the RT side (which are also on the D-pad). Other role actions I may need to access quickly go on the face pad (and Shield Lob lol).
Basically, I hold RT during my filler phase, and I hold LT when it's time for my burst phase.
RT > LT & LT > RT: all mitigations are on both hotbars. This may be redundant, but I like that all I have to do to access mitigations is hold both shoulder buttons down, whether I am in my filler phase or burst phase.
RT, RT = Paladin actions I don't use regularly go here, as well as Provoke + Shirk for the same reason
LT, LT = My mob hotbar. All my AoE actions + my burst phase go here. Basically the hotbar I use in dungeons and add phases, but I could have easily put this into another hotbar entirely and give myself 8 free slots for macros and items (fireworks, maybe? :eyes: )

How I set up my crossbars as a paladin on steamdeck (Currently level ~65)
I try to play every classes/jobs, thus I tend to reuse same slots for same "functionality" across jobs.
Used the following link to add keybinds to the back triggers : https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/vdnmji/advanced_controller_tips_for_steam_deck/
||| L4 -> Target nearest enemy ||| R4 -> Cycle through enemies (nearest -> furthest) ||| L5 -> Sprint ||| R5 -> Inventory
